Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ “The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
We are commanded to love: The purpose of every Christ-follower is to practice obeying His greatest commandment by living a life of genuine all-consuming love for God and people.
Pursue the Great Commission
Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
We are commissioned to lead: The more we grow in our love for God and people, the more our passion for fulfilling Christ's mission, locally and globally, becomes the primary pursuit of our lives.
